From Night Shifts

to Night Courts

🌌 The Short Version:

A Kazakh-born, German-raised bookworm with Russian roots, a nursing past, and a present-day obsession with fae, dragons, and stories that feel like supernovas.

📖 The Longer (But Still Fun) Story:
Born in Kazakhstan and raised in Germany’s misty north, I grew up straddling cultures, languages, and identities. Books became my compass early on – from Harry Potter (which I first hated until my brother dragged me to the movies) to White Fang and Island of the Blue Dolphins, stories taught me that belonging isn’t about where you’re from, but where your imagination takes you.

After years working as a nurse and wandering the world (including a life-changing stint in India), I settled in Berlin – a city as gritty and magical as Six of Crows’ Ketterdam. But it wasn’t until 2023 that I rediscovered my first love: fantasy books.

Fourth Wing reignited the spark. The Folk of the Air poured gasoline on it. Now, I’m here to scream about:

  • Morally grey fae princes (Team Cardan forever).

  • Dragons that double as therapy animals.

  • Books that make you forget to eat/sleep/breathe.

Why Cosmic Reads?

This isn’t just a blog – it’s a constellation of stories for readers who:

  • Want fantasy reviews without snobbery.

  • Crave guides that decode tropes like “Enemies to Lovers vs. Enemies to Oh No They’re Hot”.

  • Believe books are best discussed over imaginary coffee in fictional worlds.
